More Than Just Swapping the Old One Out.

Smart thermostats are straightforward to mount — but getting the wiring right, confirming compatibility with your heating system, and setting up proper schedules and zones requires experience. A bad install can short the control board on a $4,000 furnace.

  • Compatibility check before purchase

We verify your system's wiring, voltage, and C-wire availability before you spend money on a thermostat that won't work — or needs a costly adapter to function.

  • Safe, correct wiring

Thermostat wiring involves low-voltage control signals that tie directly into your furnace and AC control boards. Miswiring can damage equipment. We label every wire and wire it right.

  • Full system test after install

We run the furnace and AC through a complete test cycle to confirm both heat and cool modes respond correctly before we leave. You're not finding out the heat doesn't work in December.

  • App setup and walk-through

We connect the thermostat to your Wi-Fi, download the app on your phone, and walk you through scheduling and the features you'll actually use. No manual required.

Smart Thermostat FAQ

Most smart thermostats require a C-wire (common wire) for continuous power. Many older homes don't have one wired to the thermostat location. We can run a C-wire, use a power adapter kit, or install a thermostat model that works without one — we'll assess your wiring before any work begins.
Most smart thermostats are compatible with oil furnaces and hot-water boilers, but compatibility depends on the specific control wiring. Some older systems with millivolt controls or multi-zone hydronic setups need a different approach. We check before we recommend anything.
Yes — heat pump systems use O/B wiring that requires the thermostat be configured for heat pump mode. This is a step many DIY installers miss, causing the system to run in the wrong mode. We configure this correctly at installation and test the complete heating and cooling cycle.
Either way works. If you've already bought a thermostat, we'll install it. If you'd like us to supply it, we can recommend the right model for your system and budget. Just call or message us before purchasing if you're unsure — it's a quick conversation that can save a return trip.
We'll tell you up front and recommend a compatible alternative that meets your goals. We don't force installs that won't function properly — we'd rather help you find the right product than leave you with a thermostat that partially works.
