What’s Wrong With Your AC?

This is often low refrigerant, a dirty condenser coil, or a failing compressor. We check refrigerant levels and inspect the outdoor unit to find the cause.
If the blower is running but the air isn’t cold, the compressor may not be engaging or refrigerant may be low. We test the system to find where the cooling process is breaking down.
Usually an electrical issue — a tripped breaker, a blown fuse, a bad capacitor, or a thermostat problem. We check the electrical components before assuming the worst.
Short cycling can be caused by a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a refrigerant issue, or an oversized unit. We diagnose which one is actually happening in your system.
Usually a clogged condensate drain line or a frozen evaporator coil that’s thawing. Left alone, this can lead to water damage — worth having checked promptly.
Rattling, buzzing, or screeching usually points to a loose part, a failing motor, or a fan blade issue. Noises are worth calling about before they turn into a bigger repair.
An AC system that’s losing efficiency — from dirty coils, low refrigerant, or an aging component — often shows up as a bigger electric bill before it shows up as a full breakdown.

Budd’s offers same-day service and does its best to get to cooling calls quickly, especially during the summer when a broken AC is hard to live with. Call us and we’ll let you know the soonest we can be out to diagnose the problem.
