Budd’s Plumbing, Heating & Cooling handles plumbing repair, water heaters, and drain and sewer work for homeowners and rental property owners in Wildwood — year-round homes and summer properties alike.
Wildwood calls tend to cluster around three things: a pipe or fixture that has failed, a water heater that cannot keep up, and a drain or sewer line that is backing up. Here is how we handle each.
Broken and burst pipes, leaks, low water pressure, failed fixtures, and water lines that need replacing. We find the actual cause before quoting a repair, and most repairs are completed the same visit as the diagnostic.
Repair and replacement for tank and tankless systems. We install Bradford White, Ruud, Rheem, and Navien. Free estimates apply to new installations and replacements — a diagnostic or repair visit is a separate service call.
Drain cleaning, main sewer line cleaning, and backups. On a barrier island the sewer lateral is often the real story rather than the fixture, so we look with a camera before assuming it is a simple clog.
A lot of Wildwood housing is seasonal — rentals, duplexes, condos, and second homes that run flat out through the summer and sit closed through the winter. Plumbing in a property like that fails on a different schedule than plumbing in a year-round home, and it is worth planning around rather than reacting to.
Turning the water back on is when the winter’s damage shows up. A pipe that let go in January does not announce itself until pressure comes back into the system.
This is when the system gets tested. One bathroom serving a full house, back-to-back turnovers, and hot water demand far past what a normal household puts on a tank.
How a property is shut down largely determines what you find in April. Water left sitting in a line that freezes is the single most expensive thing that happens to seasonal properties down here.
A lot of our Wildwood calls come from owners who live somewhere else. Tell us what is happening and how access works at the property, and we will sort out scheduling from there.

Wildwood sits on a barrier island in Cape May County, inside Budd’s service area. Our shop is in Cape May Court House, a short run up the Parkway.
Wildwood is a boardwalk town, and the housing reflects that. A large share of it is seasonal — rentals, duplexes, condos, and second homes that carry heavy occupancy for a few months and then sit closed. That cycle is hard on plumbing in specific, predictable ways: water heaters asked to do more than they were sized for, drains that go from overloaded to unused, and lines that freeze in a building nobody is heating.
Island conditions add to it. Sandy soil and a high water table are hard on sewer laterals and buried lines, and salt air works on anything plumbed outdoors. Budd’s has worked throughout Cape May County since 1988 and has done real work in Wildwood specifically — plumbing, and heating and cooling too, including a full Ruud system upgrade completed here in June 2026. If you need the HVAC side as well, that is the same phone call.
